Germans
thrashers Tankards are about to release their new album
"Beast Of Bourbon", and after the sight seeing trip
through Tankards hometown Frankfurt was blown to pieces
for the lack of people that can't do their job proper,
namely the tram system mangers in Frankfurt!! Tankard's
manager Buffo Schnädelbach took us to the "Speak
Easy". A small hard rock pub was we were introduced
to the "Beast Of Bourbon".

The
album kicks of with "Under Friendly Fire",
a song about American jet fighter pilots in a bit
of negative way. Very fast song and the vocals of
Gerre are in a very good shape.
"Slipping
From Reality" is next on the menu and starts
a bit slower as the last one ended. But don´t let
an intro fool you, the song continues in full speed
and contains a beautiful "easy" bridge.
"Genetic Overkill" about gender
manipulatedbeer
this one opens with a fat bass that leads this song
into thrashworld of Tankard. Screaming vocals and
fast pounding double bass drums. Next one up is
the dream of many among us, "Die With A beer
In Your Hand". ëSwords held higher - who´s
the liar´? - I have the beer of fire!, isn´t
that what Tankard is all about. Say what you think
without fear of anything or anyone at all. Ballad
likely intro on this one, but again the guys fool
you. |

The
guitar opens "The Horde" with a big bang, while
the pounding bass walks as a red line through this
song.
I don´t know what you think of when you hear "Endless
Pleasure". A kind of "ballad" without loosing the
thrash speed. Not a song to dance to with your loved
one. Wonderful guitar solo is included.
To
party the Tankard way, you must understand "Dead
Man Drinking" that were not dead yet. The band
celebrates themselves during this song and drink
another beer to convince the rest.
|
Full
speed thrash with another beautiful guitarsolo and bridge
in this "Alien Revenge" to be followed by "Fistful Of
Love". So much aggression in this song that you can´t
believe the word Love in the title. Olaf beats the shit
out of his drum kitt during this track. "Beyond The
Pubyard" is the last but one track and I don´t know
how they came up with this weird title. And than it´s
time for Tankard to close this album, and they do it
with a cover version of British punk rockers
| Cocksparrer.
This sing along song ended up on Tankards repertoire
while it was played on away trips by Frankfurt´s
soccer team Eintracht. The
end of this song didn´t mean it was the end
of the evening, no not at all. Now it was time for
the public to enter the Speak Easy pub. Buffo was
the DJ for the first half of this evening and it
was a great opportunity for the DJ to give the "Beast
Of Bourbon"
another spin, and the album was introduced to the
public. Now Gerre took place on the DJ chair and
gave away some beautiful collector items through
a lottery. |

In
the Tankard tradition there was enough beer to guide
you through the evening.
And
so came an end of a wonderful evening of a wonderful
weekend.
We
want to thank the guys from AFM Records who invited
us, to U.D.O. and Tankard and all the friends we met
and made this weekend. And for you out there, be prepared
for again two wonderful releases through AFM Records
