BOB CoverSo long, "B-day" was the reference album in the Tankard discography, but it seems as if this would change on 22. March. Because that's the day, "Beast of bourbon" is being released making clear that the German thrashers are stronger than ever.

The songs hit you right between the eyes, the more the merrier! None of the 11 tracks turns out to be a weak one, Gerre and Co. perform on an absolute high level and offer a 100% thrash orgy. Interesting however is that despite all power of the material the compositions always remain pursuable. Highlight of the album should be the new Tankard hymn, "Die with a beer in your hand", a very catchy song despite its high speed. Fat, old-school like are also "The horde" and the powerful "Dead men drinking"! Almost commercial seem the cover versions of "We`re coming back" of the English Punk/Oi band, Cocksparrer. Supercool.

Tankard do without all technical paraphernalia and play like unleashed, and that's the strength of this album. You literally stand "Under friendly fire", as the edgy opener of the Frankfurt-based guys suggests. Well done guys! (Jürgen Tschamler - 04/01)
